Highland Obedience Staff

Our animal loving staff is ready to help you with your dog training and dog care needs. Assisting owner and lead trainer, Michele Taipale, are:
  • Kimberly Souza, Office Manager, Assistant Trainer
    • After calling on Highland Obedience for private lessons to help her reform her two dogs, Rudi and Natalie, Kim was intrigued by the changes training could bring about. After taking many more classes, she became hooked on dogs and dog training.
    • Kim is continuing her education by working with her own dogs, the office dogs, and shelter dogs, and assisting in many classes. She now teaches Puppy, Adolescent, and Level One classes. She is also our resident expert on dog foods and canine nutrition.
    • Kim keeps the office running and is the person you will most frequently talk to on the telephone!
  • Lori Strout, Assistant Trainer
    • Most of Lori's career has been connected to animals. She has worked with horses at a wide variety of riding and training facilities and worked with dogs and other animals in a variety of animal shelters and dog training facilities.
    • When she lived in Maine, Lori raised German Shepherds. She actively trained and participated in obedience meets and trials and also did some public obedience demonstrations. Her dog, Zak, completed his CD (Companion Dog), CDX (Companion Dog Excellent), and began work on the UD title (Utility Dog). She and Zak also trained and competed in basic Tracking which, she tells us, was enormously fun!
    • Lori is the manager of the weekend social hours, she assists in many training classes, works with private clients, and is the primary assistant for aggressive dog cases and classes.
