Some problems are not
easily dealt with in the context of a class setting.
House
training,
aggression
issues, or
separation
anxiety are examples
of problems that are often more productively addressed in a one on
one session and often in a home setting.
We will provide
one on
one training at the Humane Society training
facility or we
offer personal training in
your own home and
work with your family and dog to develop a personal plan that will
put your lives back on track. For particularly challenging
problems, we may sometimes suggest you bring your dog to us and we
will work with the dog at our farm with the help of our resident
dog pack.
Board
with Training. In
addition, if you would like your dog to receive some basic training
while you are away on vacation we do offer a training package in
conjunction with the Humane Society
boarding
services.

We
offer private dog training services in the communities of
Dartmouth, Fall River, Fairhaven, Westport, New Bedford, Little
Compton, Mattapoisett, Marion, Freetown & environs. One day
each week we are also in the Boston and Cambridge area for private
dog training consultations.

Social
Hour for your Dog Friendly Dog. It is difficult for most of us to
make sure our dogs get enough exercise. Dog play is one of the best
ways to burn off excess energy. Every Sunday, as long as the
weather cooperates, we offer doggy social
hours in our large enclosed field near the Demarest Lloyd State
Park.
During the winter, we are holding social hour at 31 Ventura Drive.
This is not the same as being in the great outdoors, but it beats
sitting around the house staring out the window at the snow!
The cost is $10/session or $40 for a five pack!
Please note, we want this to be a fun and low stress play group.
Every dog must be registered and approved before joining a group.
If you are not currently a client, you must provide proof of
up-to-date vaccinations. If your dog is a little "tricky" with
other dogs, we may
be able to offer some one on one time in the afternoons with
specific dogs but this must be specially arranged and is limited to
current clients.

photos!

Descriptions:
- Puppy
Kindergarten: This is a fun-filled off leash puppy
training class for puppies 2-5 months old. The priority is to
socialize your puppy to other dogs and people, accustom him to
different stimuli and set a solid foundation for creating a
well-adjusted, well-mannered adult dog. We'll show you easy ways to
begin teaching your puppy basic manners like sit, come, and
don't pull on the leash,
please! We address puppy potty training issues, chewing,
jumping, biting and more! This is a rolling enrollment class, you
can start any time. 4 weeks, $60. Further
information on rolling enrollment classes can be found
here!
- Adolescent Obedience
Level 1: Age 5-9 months. For puppy kindergarten graduates,
this is the next step in becoming an obedient dog. We sometimes
allow dogs to join who have not been through the puppy training
class but this must be assessed on an individual basis. Adolescent
class combines off leash obedience with continued social
opportunities. Rolling enrollment, start any time. 6 weeks,
$100. Further
information on rolling enrollment classes can be found
here!

behavior problems such as jumping, nipping, or barking. 6 weeks,

learned commands such as sit, down, stay and come. Dogs will loose

"back". Dogs will begin work on distance commands. Prerequisite,

in the community. The class fee includes the testing fee.
Prerequisite: Level 2 Obedience or instructor permission. 8 weeks,
$145
- Growl
Class: Do you have a snapping snarling canine who tries to
attack other dogs? Growl class may be for you! This class is
designed to help dog aggressive dogs become more comfortable and

dogs and handling skills of the owners. Are you embarrassed by your
dog's aggressive behavior? Are you afraid to take your dog outside?
Don't be! Come to growl class!
- Tricks

companion a variety of tricks that will entertain your friends and
help cement your relationship with your dog. Dogs love learning
tricks! We will teach roll over, play dead, give the paw, wave,
jump through hoops, crawl, step back, speak, target and more.
Participants will learn how dogs learn and will be inspired to
think up tricks of their own. Pre-requisite, Level 1 Obedience or
instructor permission, we also strongly recommend taking the clicker seminar
prior to doing tricks class. 4 weeks, $60.
- Fun & Games for
Small Dogs AND Fun & Games for
Medium to Large Dogs: These summer and fall outdoor classes

- Agility, Games &
Tricks: This rolling enrollment winter class offers lots
of stimulation for the dog who needs some activity during the

we strongly recommend taking the clicker seminar! Further
information on rolling enrollment classes can be found
here!
- Clicker Training
Seminar: Every month we offer an inter-active clicker
training seminar. This is an eye opening session that helps
participants understand how dogs learn and perceive the world. With
that knowledge we introduce some of the tools that will help you
optimize your dog training time. Participants do not bring their
own dogs but will have the opportunity to watch a dog learn a new
skill. We strongly recommend this seminar to everyone.
- Doggy
Social Hour: As long as the weather and the enthusiasm last,
we are holding off leash play groups in our large enclosed field in
South Dartmouth. Check out the photos of
doggy play group! The opportunity to romp off leash with other
friendly canines is a wonderful experience for dogs.
