At Highland Obedience we are fanatic believers in the need for dogs to be dogs. Inter-dog play is, for many dogs, the ultimate satisfaction of a whole bunch of doggy needs all rolled into one: socializing with fellow canines, exercising instincts, running around like maniacs, chewing on others, butt sniffing, snarking, chasing, body slamming, and getting thoroughly exhausted. Some dogs just like to hang out and watch the action, some dogs like to be in the thick of it, but it is a healthy activity for all (even the owners).
To help satisfy that need, we offer dog social hours on Sundays.The weather has moved us indoors over the winter so it is not quite the same - but if your dog (or you) is going a little stir crazy, by all means bring that dog to Sunday Social Hour. Small Dogs meet at 1:00 PM, Large dogs meet at noon or 2:00. Because of the smaller space, we have limited big dogs coming in together and always want to make sure they are friends who will benefit from the time together. The cost is $10/session or $40 for a five pack!
Please note, we want this to be a fun and low stress play group. Every dog must be registered and approved before joining a group. If your dog is a little "tricky" with other dogs, he or she will have to be tested and approved. This is not the place to try to socialize an anti-social dog. (However, if you do have an anti-social dog, you may want to join our Growl Class!)

Note that this is SOCIAL hour, not a CLASS. There is supervision but no instruction. Dogs playing together have a great time, but dog play can be rough. In bringing your dog to play group you take full responsibility for your own dog's well-being and for yourself. You understand that accidents and injuries are a possibility - both to human and canine.
