Helpful Links for Dog Training and Dog Care
OK, we could spend A LOT of
time writing articles.
The problem is, we don't
have a lot of time because we are busy training dogs and the people
who love them.
Moreover, there are already
thousands and thousands of great
dog training articles on the
web already. So, rather than re-invent the wheel, we provide you
here with links to some of the best articles we have been able to
find on the internet. No two dog trainers do everything exactly the
same way, so if an article says something different than what we
said in class or two different articles don't agree EXACTLY, don't
be surprised. Try out different techniques and see what works best
for you.

are determined to read our own ramblings, you can

- General
Resources.
-
- A fantastic resource for ALL training topics is Dogstar Daily with
extensive excerpts from Dr. Ian Dunbar's books. You can download
Dr. Dunbar's complete puppy training books for free. This is a
GREAT resource. They also have loads of excellent training
videos.
- Another great resource is Diamonds in the
Ruff
- A variety of dog training tips
and resources from Patricia McConnell. She is one of the best
writers on dog issues in the United States today. We love her books
and recommend them enthusiastically. If you read no other dog book,
read "On
the Other End of the Leash". This is a wonderful book that will
help you understand your dog's behavior and remove some of the
mystery in how to communicate with your canine housemate.

- If your puppy is handled and
gentled from an early age your veterinarians and groomers will
always be grateful to you.
- Taking the edge
off of Nervous or Aggressive dogs. We believe strongly that
a behavioral plan should be firmly in place for every dog with
anxiety or aggression issues. However, there are times when adjunct
therapies might improve your progress. Always check with your
veterinarian first - but here are some good articles on OTC
therapies that have some good history.
